Rewind
Wow, it’s been quite a long time since I’ve done a proper update. I cannot believe how much my life has changed in only a few short months.
First things first, I’ve made a few minor updates to my blog. I’ve updated my about section and my 101 in 1001 list. You can check those out, if you’d like.
Back to life…
In September I started teaching Kindergarten – letter identification, social skills, problem solving, learning to read and cleaning up messes have consumed my life since. I absolutely love it. I would teach Kindergarten again in a heartbeat. I have a great but challenging group of 26 students between the ages of 4-5. Everyday they do something to make me laugh, amaze me or completely frustrate me (ha!). They are wonderful and they have taught me so much about teaching.
Last summer I met a guy – a wonderful, funny, intelligent, honest and trustworthy guy who I have fallen completely head over heels for. The catch? He lives extremely far away. However, we’re taking what God gave to us and trying our best to make it work until hopefully we can be together. Thank goodness for Skype.
At the end of November I lost my Grandfather. He was and still is one of the kindest, funniest and most sincere men I know. His death has been extremely difficult and by far, the most difficult thing I’ve had to endure in my life thus far. Every day I miss him terribly. I’ve learned to think about all the good times him and I had together (and believe me, ALL of them were good. I don’t have 1 single “bad” memory of my Grandfather) and focus on those, instead of the short time he was sick. He lived a wonderful, enjoyable 90 years and I am so thankful I had him for that long. I hope he’s watching over me, playing cards and drinking a beer.
I’m hoping to get back into blogging – I really miss it. I’m curious if there are any other elementary teachers out there who would be interested in starting a teaching blog with me?

Hi there, I'm Kelly! I'm a twenty-something year old Kindergarten teacher by day and a medical receptionist by night. I am currently positioned somewhere between the girl I once was and the successful woman I am about to become. Follow me as I find my path in life - enjoying every bend, twist, hill and pothole.
